Thanks! First Reading AdventureWe Are Going On A Book Hunt!!
Tuesday, October 4 6:30-7:15pm School Cafeteria
That is the title of the book that will be featured at our first reading adventure. All students in Pre-k through second grade and their families are invited to attend. We will read a great book, make some fun crafts and have a cool dessert! Come out and join us for this fun filled night celebrating the Library! Stuck on a word? Try This! First, Look at the Picture.
Second, Think about the story. Third, Go back and read the sentence again. Fourth, Get your mouth ready. Look for chunks. Fifth, TRY!! S.M.I.L.E. We are enjoying S.M.I.L.E in the kindergarten classrooms. S.M.I.L.E is a program of research based, hands on activities designed to support phonemic awareness development. SMILE is fast paced and fun. The students work with a teacher or instructional assistant in small groups for 30 minutes each day from 8:30 - 9:00 am. We are learning about rhyming words and identifying words that begin with the same sound. Your child will bring home a paper with additional activities to do at home. Keep these and you will be able to make your own alphabet book!
